About TURFinc
TURFinc, an Oakland/Bay Area-based company, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully hosting its 100th event, with no signs of slowing down. Founded by Johnny Anthony Lopez, better known as "Johnny5," TURFinc aims to inspire positive changes in the community through the art of Turf dancing. The company's success is a testament to Johnny5's dedication and involvement in every aspect of the business, from talent scouting to emceeing events. His passion for giving back to the community is evident in his aspiration to have a global impact by traveling the world, teaching Turf dancing, and using it as a healing mechanism for trauma. He envisions taking TURFinc to new heights by opening his own youth dance center to serve the Oakland/SF-Bay community.
“Dance has had a powerful influence on my life which is why I started TURFinc to give back and share with the art form with community.”
— Johnny5, event curator
